Fireworks can be purchased and set off at a residential address as long as safety regulations are followed. Some fireworks companies offer the service of placing ashes into fireworks for you to use at home or a privately hired venue. When you ignite the firework, the ashes are scattered along with the firework’s effects. Barrages and rockets are the most commonly used for this. Rockets are powerful and loud but are over fairly quickly, whereas barrages can last for a minute or so.
You will likely need to drop the ashes off at the fireworks providers and inform them of any message you want the label of the firework to contain. They will then inform you of the price and turnaround time, so it is best to ensure this is done in plenty of time.
